News from here,
Sad to say, after my exciting debut in Belgium cycling, it all
came to a massive hault Thursday last week when I came down with the flu
:-( So Thurs-Mon I've just been rolling around for an hour or so, hoping
that I will get better by this weekend. I've just been informed by my team
director that he is due to go in for open heart surgery soon!?!?! So my little
cold doesn't seem so bad. Best wishes to Patrick for when he goes to hospital.
The race on my schedule for Thurs has been cancelled, so I have
more time to recover for the big race on Sunday. The Grote Prijs Stad Roeselare,
which is a UCI 1.2 race, where many of the big pro teams will be racing.
If there's going to be a day to ride well, this is it! To my advantage, it
is on a flat course. Thou that would probably be to the advantage of the
'big unit' sprinters too.
I heard from Anthony Kneipp yesterday, apparently he was in Belgium
when the Tour de Flanders was on! bugger hey! He didn't know I was here,
would have been great to have a yarn over vegemite on toast :-)
