Hey everybody hope you've all been keeping well. i've bee riding a whole heap here.. funny that! No it's actually been really awesome. i got my arse kicked every day when I first arrived, but now after a month I'm starting to feel alot more comfortable in the training and the distances we have done. We average about 120km a day, depending on what we are doing.

Yesterday was very hard though! Four team members; Chris Willemse, Abdellbasset Hannachi, Andrew Smith, and myself rode to Struisbaai to visit a good friend of Chris Snr. It was 135km of hill after hill after hill, followed by a few good climbs, headwinds, and then even rain. But, the sky cleared when we got to Charles' house... So we pulled out the jetskis and hit the water. These things were Uber powerful! I never knew what it was like hitting a wave at 45km/h. It's actually flippin' scary! in other words, really addictive fun! (Charles is a multimillionairre apparently, but an extremely nice guy.)

The pain hit me hard today though.... After yesterdays ride, and the 3 days of hell before yesterday, where I averaged 120km a day in the rain and wind; i just popped today. We were cruising along, and i was managing the fatigue alrightish. But then I started to get goosebumps and a headache and all of a sudden I blew on the spot. So I cruised home with the old fellas and had some healthy recovery food (okay I'm lying... i had waffles and ice cream with 2 cokes and some coffee... gotta love burning 3000 - 4500Kcal a day)

But tomorrow is our first rest day in 2 weeks, so we can sleep in, and just chill for a change. But with all this riding, my form has really hit new levels. I'm constantly tired though, but I feel a hell of alot stronger now, compared to even 2 weeks ago. Well I'm off to have a sleep. It's new years party tonight, but I'm actually too tired to go. Call me a party pooper if you want; but in my opinion, a decent sleep will beat a few drinks.. hands down!

Miss you all heaps, but I'm still alive and kicking.

Cheers!

Joey
