It's been a while since my last email to everybody, but I've been really flat out! Some exciting stuff has happened if you haven't been to my Space to read it all.

I've just recently completed working with the MTN pro MTB team on the Cape Epic 2008 as an assistant mechanic, just for the experience. The team did well beating several world champions and ex champs to finish 3rd overall in the 9 day event. And needless to say I learnt a hell of a lot!

Also, I've just left my original team, CSC Marcello due to many reasons, but mainly because of the way I was being treated the moment my level of riding picked up. I wasn't treated as part of the team, no matter my performances or commitment, so I left. Then while I was on the Cape Epic, David George offered me a position on another big team in Cape Town. So now I'll be riding for team Cosmytek for the year. The plan is to commit purely to riding... I will not have to work a job either so I can train 5 - 7 hours a day and then go home to my new apartment and rest up.
Then if my level of riding and power output are high enough,  I will apply to MTN Energade (south africas biggest team) and ride for them as a pro.
With Cosmytek being a new team, there is no salary to ride, but once the results come then this will change. Sponsors reward results so we just need to accumulate some solid wins. The age of most of the riders ranges between 19 - 22yrs old.

Otherwise, I just had a meeting with MTN in JHB to discuss my future plans, and have now got a commitment from then to analyse my power data throughout the year and suggest what they want me capable of to get onto the team in 09.
I hope you are all keeping well and still riding (those of you who do ride that is!) And keeping out of trouble too... I'm just getting over yet another cold, before I fly home to Cape Town to sign with Cosmytek.

Until next time - sorry about the delay between emails!

Tooroo  ;)
