Illawarra CC Juniors were amongst the medals at the NSW Junior Country Road Championships on Sat 16 July 2011

Shari Heffernan is the 2011 JG11 NSW Country Champion

Natasha Mullany is the 2011 JG13 NSW Country Champion

Bridget Mullany is the 2011 JW15 NSW Country Champion

Holly Heffernan is the 2011 JW17 NSW Country Champion

Chloe Heffernan claimed the bronze medal in the JG13 event

Mitchell Wright claimed the bronze medal in the JB13 event

Bradley Heffernan claimed the bronze medal in the JM17 event.

This Sunday's 22km Junior race will be sponsored by the ACA (Arnold Cycling Academy). Every Junior who enters will receive a prize. Kids choose a prize from the ACA table in the order in which they finish the race. 1st has first choice etc. All prizes are of roughly $15 - $20 value and include cycling socks, gloves, bidons, movie tickets etc.

Illawarra Junior Cyclists bagged four NSW Championship Titles at the 2011 Jnr Championships.

Bridget Mullany is the NSW JW15 Scratch Race Champion, NSW JW15 Time Trial Champion and NSW JW15 Sprint Champion. Bridget claimed the Silver medal in the JW15 Pursuit.

Holly Heffernan is the NSW JW17 Sprint Champion. Holly also claimed the Silver medal in the JW 17 Time Trial and the JW17 Pursuit.

Bradley Heffernan claimed the Bronze Medal in the JM17 Pursuit.

Four Illawarra Cycle Club Juniors have been selected for the NSW Junior Track Team to compete at the Australian Junior Track Championships in Sydney from 17-19 March 2010.

Congratulations to Bridget Mullany (JW15), Matthew Pignatelli (JM15), Holly Heffernan (JW17) and Bradley Heffernan (JM17).

Six Illawarra Junior’s represented the Club at the 2010 Wagga Wagga Junior Tour over the weekend 15-16 May 2010

Weather conditions were perfect with mild temperatures and no wind for the first major road race event for the season

Lots of prickles and thorns kept the support crew busy inspecting tyres and changing wheels both on the start line and during the races.
All the ICC Juniors thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned some valuable lessons which they will take into the Goulburn Junior Tour in two weeks.

Stage 1 Individual Time Trial.

• Natasha Mullany (JW13) ~ first.
• Bridget Mullany (JW15) ~ third
• Bradley Heffernan (JW15) ~ third

Stage 2 Road Race.

• Natasha Mullany (JW13) ~ third.
• Bridget Mullany (JW15) ~ first.
• Bradley Heffernan (JW15) ~ third

All other ICC riders finished at the front end of the bunch.

Stage 3 Road Race

• Natasha Mullany (JW13) ~ second
• Bridget Mullany (JW15) ~ second
• Bradley Heffernan (JW15) ~ second

Overall Results for the General Classification

• Natasha Mullany (JW13) ~ second
• Sari Mitrevski (JW13) ~ fifth
• Bridget Mullany (JW15) ~ second
• Bradley Heffernan (JM15) ~ third

Holly Heffernan, Chloe Heffernan rode well and finished in the top 10.

Chloe Heffernan claimed third place in the JW13 10 km Handicap with a gutsy ride off block to catch the limit bunch just on the finish line.
