Welcome To Illawarra Cycle Club

The Illawarra Cycle Club is located in Wollongong on the South Coast of New South Wales Australia. The Club holds Road Cycle Race meetings almost every week of the year. During the Summer, Velodrome Racing is also promoted at the Unanderra Velodrome on the Princes Highway.

The Club is for participants for all levels. There is no need to be Robbie McEwen or Cadel Evans on the first day you come out to the Club. We have 4 Grades ranging from those that are there to compete and attain the highest level in the sport, to those that are out for some fitness and enjoy the social aspect of the day.

All the members of the Club will welcome new riders and assist new members with various aspects of racing whether it be on the Velodrome at Unanderra or out on the Road course at West Dapto (Avondale Rd). Several riders have ridden at international level and have much advice and experience to pass on to those aspiring to dothe same and to those that want to be able to ride better at Club level.

So if you have a bike, enjoy riding it, enjoy talking to people, and perhaps would like to try a little competition in a friendly environment, come along and join in the fun.

Illawarra Cycle Club is proudly supported by Frank Soto & Associates

On 30th May 2010, the Illawarra Cycle Club hosted the 53rd Ken Dinnerville Memorial Race.

The race was run under pretty good conditions with little wind and cool temperatures.

The race came together into two major groups on the third lap of the West Dapto Course. With approximately 6 minutes between the two major groups at the start of the lap.

Within the last 2km's the Scratch riders caught up to the limit markers ensuring for a big sprint finish. Unfortunately for the Scratch bunch, they missed out on making their way through the Limit bunch before the line. That left riders such as John Forrest (Vikings CC ACT) and Eddie Salas (Penrith CC) to fight out for the sprint with a small gap back to the rest of the field. In the end and a photo finish that took several reviews, John Forrest took out the event from Eddie Salas.

Congratulations to all the riders that participated in the event and we look forward to seeing next years event.
