Ken Dinnerville Handicap Great Success
The Ken Dinnerville Memorial Handicap again was a great success and a well-organised event.
Big THANK YOU to ALL volunteers: commissaires, lead vehicles, canteen helpers, marshalls and Traffic Controllers.
Your efforts resulted in an incident free race.
*Thanks to the Commissaires from CNSW- Howard Grimshaw, Ken Martin, Liz Roberts, Jim Eades,
*Thanks to ICC Commisaires: Geoff Gooley, Barbara Wyles, Garry Doughty, Andrew Telford, Vince O'Dwyer, Reg Hichens, Patrick Delahunty, Dennis Fitzgerald.
*Thanks to the other vehicle drivers, and Marcus Arnold for doing as he always does- keeps an eye on everyone.
*Thanks to Glen Turnbull for being there for first aid, happy not to use him!
*Thanks to Jenny and her canteen and cooking team who provided cakes, drinks and hot food.
* AND whoever organised the weather, we are grateful, considering the heavens opened up on Sunday night!
*My personal thanks go to The Traffic Controllers who were at it at 7.30am, collecting signs, sweeping the road and preparing the course.
Much appreciation to: Liz Bevan & Juan Ruiz controlling traffic at the start, Craig Brown on the blind corner at Cleveland Rd, Tony Burke sitting alone at the 'Y', Shane Visser and Brett McIntosh for a great job at the Twin Bridges with ONE operable two-way radio, Peter Evans on the blind corner on Marshall Mt, Chris Apps on the bottom of Marshall Mt, Ernie & Christine Hall at the Christian School covering the turn.
This was almost the same team who marshalled and controlled the 90km race last week.
**Many of these people will want to race the Illawarra Interclub on Sat 25th June using the same course over two laps only.
**For those who did the longer races, this is your chance to return the favour and volunteer for the ICC Interclub.
Jeff Gray is Marshall Coordinator for the Interclub, please let him know of your availability with an email to either him or me.
If you helped out and I missed you here, let me know.
