24 January 2010 - Time Trial
What a great turnout for a morning whose weather began as ‘iffy’ and turned into “perfect” for a TT.
The usual TT specialists were in force today, with a few new members signing up as well. Perfect conditions would mean good times and so it was. Aaron Donnelly recorded fastest time with a blistering 25:39, not enough to beat Jono Hall’s record. However, the course is now longer (past the old hall, on the flat). There were many best times, including Tim Losco, who with a borrowed TT hardtop, recorded a sub 30min. Ernie Hall once again showed class with an excellent 31:13 and shaving a few seconds off his previous time.
It was great to see so many women today. Remember that in the series, women’s times are recorded again men’s times with Ten years added.
Rob Calladine showed determination to slash 2minutes off his previous time and now sits in FIRST place in the series ahead of Ernie Hall by 20 seconds.
The 3rd and final TT will be on 24April. With prizes for the first 5 placings the final outcome is still open. Your BEST TWO times will be used to calculate the final outcome.
For those who had their first TT in the series, your time is compared against the AGE STANDARD and given either a + or – time.
The person with the BEST average minus time for their best two times will the overall winner.
Don’t forget the TWO rider TT on Feb 21. Placings will be calculated against the same AGE STANDARD table using the team’s average age. Women will have 15years ADDED and D and E grades 5 years ADDED to their ages. So start organising your team now!
